Printer Ink – Money Saving Tips

The printing capabilities we now have at home are pretty amazing when you stop and think about it. Even more amazing than this though are the extremely low prices that you can buy a brand new printer at these days. There is however a catch. Isn’t there always?

Printer manufacturers use a very clever marketing model that can be seen in with many other products such as razors and cell phones.

They will actually sell you the printer at a loss just so that they can then sell you ink cartridges at over inflated prices. That’s why if you buy the manufacturers own ink cartridges you will probably be spending $20-30 for a replacement.

They make a huge amount of profit on these ink cartridge replacements, which is why they spend so much time and money trying to convince you to buy their ink cartridges. Well we do not think this is fair, so that is why we are going to tell you how you can beat the big manufacturers and save yourself a lot of money at the same time!

Post card printing is not just for tourism anymore

Custom printing helps with a celebration. If you are throwing a birthday party for a friend or relative or putting together an open house for someone’s milestone anniversary, sending out post cards with the invite can be easy and inexpensive.

Custom post card printing will allow you to put a picture of the birthday person or happy couple on there along with the information regarding the celebration.

All without the envelopes, the stenography, or any of the other hassles that can come with such events. Though it is not as formal, but the ease of the process will be appreciated by most.

Thirdly, use your custom post card printing as a way to get out reminders. In this age of emails, we sometimes forget how effective a nice mailed reminder of an event, conference, or important meeting can be.

Your dentist or doctor sends you post card reminders, why shouldn’t you do the same for your business associates? Custom post card printing isn’t expensive and it can assure you good attendance.

Which do you prefer?

If you want to save some money on inks then it is highly recommended not to buy ink refills.
This is probably ok for printers with ink nozzles that are not built into the cartridge, like Canon printers. Still, you must be careful. The ink may not be the same quality as what you would get from the manufacturer.
If you are using an HP printer, the ink nozzle is built into the printer cartridge and is not meant to be run refill after refill.
When you replace your ink cartridge, you also replace your old nozzle with a brand new one. This helps keep the print quality good. Especially so if you are trying to print out photographs.
Another factor to consider is that when you bought your printer, you were probably looking at print quality. Why take the chance on compromising that print quality to save a few bucks?
Those budget inks you can get are not that great either. Usually they are made with recycled ink.
It is still best to opt for the factory stuff or a decent generic from your local office supply.
Which do you prefer anyway? Save a little money or good quality prints and longer printer life?

Business branding through graphic designing

Graphic design printing done for print can be adapted for use on the web and CD ROM which means you can have strong corporate branding throughout your range of advertising materials.

High quality graphics for print should be processed by a highly regarded professional printer, one who has demonstrated that they can consistently produce high quality printed materials.

Do not try to cut corners for the sake of saving a few pounds. Use a printer that will do the graphics the justice it deserves.

Do you need to consider branding & image for your company’s materials?

Brands are not just for big companies, they can also make smaller businesses stand out from the crowd and can play a significant part in helping your business or services become the first choice for customers.

In the increasingly competitive markets, it is important to establish a strong company image or brand which will give potential new customers a true idea of what they are buying before they buy it which should make that decision easier to make for them.

Existing customers trust strong brands because they know exactly what to expect and they will keep coming back to you.

Holding Down Your Printing Costs

If you look at a printer’s pricing sheet, you will realize that you have a lot of choices to make about your print job. All the options can be confusing, and can tempt printing customers to indulge on expensive extras they do not really need.
The one thing that people let their imaginations run away with is whether to use color and how much color to use.
The simplest color scheme is spot color. Spot color is good for adding a splash of excitement to business cards, menus or programs without breaking the budget.
Four-color printing is more expensive but allows your printed product to feature photographs or sophisticated graphics. While four-color printing can be very impressive when properly used, it is overkill for many small business needs such as coupons, menus or business cards.
If you decide to use four-color printing, make sure you have a good reason.
If you are printing something your business will use again and again, remember that most printers offer discounts for bulk jobs. The more you print at one time, the cheaper it will be. Printers will also sometimes make special deals with repeat customers.
It will not hurt to ask, you know.
